College Must Haves: Rubbermaid Lunch Blox

In my first year of university, I used to buy food every day and several times a day because I would be on campus from early in the morning until late in the afternoon to evening. It was really hurting my wallet and my weight. Although there was always the option of bringing food from home, I never liked to because I am not really fond of traditional lunch sandwiches and I hate carrying several different tupperware in my bag because they added so much weight to my back. Recently I have come across the amazing Rubbermaid: Lunch Blox and ever since I bought it, have been so excited to make my lunch!

Before people start telling me that this is the kids/infants edition and that there is one not specifically for children, I know, but this set was so much cuter than the normal green and blue lunch blox for adults.

This specific set includes:
  • (1) Sandwich and Snack Container with dividers (970 mL)
  • (2) Side Container (260 mL)
  • (1) Snack Container (118 mL)
  • (1) Blue Ice

It also is:
  • BPA Free
  • Microwave Safe
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Safe and non-toxic

Above I have turkey wraps (filled with lettuce and cheese), celery and broccoli, hummus, and cheetos.

Pros
Lunches are easily packed, organized and you leak-proof. This is especially nice for those who don't like when their food touches each other. I also love the cute colors! There is also a "boys" version. I only bought this because it matches a lot of the stuff already inside of my school bag, colour-wise.

Cons
Containers do not actually snap to each other (at least mine doesn't). My containers snap perfectly to the Blue Ice ice pack, but so not stay snapped together when stacked on top of each other,

I'd totally recommend this set to anyone who has a long school day and is trying to save some money or some pounds. At least this way you can plan your lunches ahead of time, know what you are putting into your body, and can save some extra money--which every college and university student knows is totally necessary with the one hundred and one fees the school throws at us.
