Surprise Dates: Adventure to The Shops At Don Mills!

I, personally, could never be the kind of girlfriend to make my boyfriend pay for everything. Honestly, if he spoils you like his queen, you should spoil him like your king. In this day and age, we are far past gender stereotypes of dating and the social obligation of men having to make the first move and pay for every date. Is it nice to have guys pay for us? Of course it is. Is it necessary all the time? Not at all.

On Friday, I thought I'd do something special for Adam since he's been home all week from summer. Thursday night, after I got home from work, I texted his parents to ask them if it would be okay if I took Adam on a surprise date and luckily for me, they were all for it! He was so happy and surprised when I told him we were going on a date to see his favourite movie and I couldn't be a happier girlfriend to have made my boyfriend so happy! We had never been to The Shops of Don Mills together so I thought this would be an awesome adventure for us!

So we started our day off at Panera Bread at The Shops of Don Mills. Originally, we were going to go to Chipotle for burritos, but the line was so long we decided to just settle for Panera Bread. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and it was so filling.

After Brunch, we walked around The Shops at Don Mills doing some window shopping and trying to kill some time before our movie. There weren't that many stores that interested Adam and we ended up sitting at a table enjoying the nice weather.

When it started to get chilly, we decided to get some hot drinks from the Lindt Chocolate Cafe. It is such a cool store because you watch them make the chocolate. Adam got a Milk Chocolate Mocha and I got a White Chocolate Mocha. They were both very delicious.

While enjoying our hot drinks, we sat by the fountain, taking photos and enjoying each other's company, waiting for the time to pass for our movie.

Finally, when 3:30 finally came around, we made our way to the Cineplex VIP to see Avengers: Age of Ultron! It was such an amazing movie! We enjoyed the VIP experience and would, for sure, go again, one day! The seats were so comfortable and had a table in front so you could eat while watching your movie. The service was very quick as well! I ordered shrimp cocktail and Adam ordered a root beer and popcorn.

After our movie, we took a walk to Edwards Garden. When we first started dating, we used to go on several walks by the lake by my house, but have been so consumed with life that we haven't had much time to do so anymore. It was nice to be able to have an hour to ourselves taking pictures and enjoying nature. Adam even made a little (squirrel) friend along the way!

And we ended our night with dinner at Boston Pizza!

Who ever said girlfriends can't treat their boyfriends? Ladies, if you enjoy being treated, just know your men love it just as much. Every now and then, I find Adam gets so overjoyed when for once he isn't the one planning every part of our date and paying. It makes me happy when he's happy and seeing his face after this date made me fall in love with him all over again!
