Five Fandom Deaths I'll Never Get Over! [5 Fandom Friday]

Happy Friday everyone! And because its Friday, I thought it would be a great opportunity to do a Five Fandom Friday, hosted by Female Geek Bloggers Google+ Community!

What is this week's topic?

Five Fandom Deaths I'm Still Upset About
... And honestly, probably will never get over!

[Spoilers Below]

(5) Nagisa Furukawa | Clannad/Clannad After Story

If you have ever watched Clannad, it is a real tear jerker, all in itself, but Nagisa's death... oh man I could not contain my tears. Watching it now, several years later, I still get goosebumbs down my arms and tears filling my eyes watching the scene! GGWP Clannad

(4) Light Yagami | Death Note

As twisted as Death Note was, I actually liked Light. When he died, I felt moved. I probably shouldn't have because he turned into a monster, but he was such a mastermind. It was sad to watch the series come to an end with his death, followed by Misa's.

(3) Bing Bong | Inside Out

Despite this movie just coming out this year, his death really touched me. I literally balled my eyes out watching this in the theatre twice! It is so precious how, despite how determined he was to reconnect with Riley, he sacrificed himself so that Joy could make Riley happy again. A real tear jerker for anyone who has seen the movie!

(2) Beth | The Walking Dead

Beth was my favourite characters in The Walking Dead. We watched her grow, become stronger and smarter, and endure hell to stay alive only to die to keep Noah in safety with her group. That scene was put together so well it leaves me with goosebumps every single time I watch it.

(1) Jimmy Edwards/Uncle Keith | One Tree Hill

Okay, I know this is kind of cheating because this is two, but it all happened so fast in one scene that without one, the other wouldn't have had as much impact on the show. It was all a chain reaction that created such pain to all the viewers of the show.

Jimmy's death was so heart breaking because it was easy for viewers to relate to. We have all been in high school and wanted to fit in. When you don't you feel secluded, lonely, empty. He caused a shooting in the school because he wanted to be noticed and was tired of being pushed around and being made fun of at school. It was his call for help. When Keith tried to save him, it wasn't enough and he ultimately committed suicide. So many teens commit suicide daily for the same reasons Jimmy had.

Keith's death was so heart breaking because him and Karen were going to get married, he was a father figure to Lucas, and all around the better half of the Scott brothers. Seeing him be killed by his younger brother, after him almost being a hero and trying to save Jimmy just left everyone speechless at the end of the episode. So well done by One Tree Hill and WB.

So those were my #5FandomFriday for the week! What are some of your fandom deaths you'll never get over

  1. I cried at Bing Bong's death (or I guess...disappearance?) too. But you could hear everyone else in the theater sniffling so it was cool that I wasn't alone, at least.

Pixar always handles deaths really well.

    1. Haha! At least I know I'm not the only one! :D
But honestly, that is so true! Pixar, so far, has never failed to give me the feels!
