DIY Geeky Gift: Gaming Tournament Survival Kit

Every year for my boyfriend's birthday, I try to step up my girlfriend-gift-giving-game with a more creative gift I know he'll love. With how difficult men are to shop for (and ladies, I know you all know it!) I thought I'd start a new series to share some of the ideas I had throughout the years for Birthdays and Christmases to keep my girlfriend-gift-giving-game on point!

This year for Adam's birthday, I put together a LANWAR X Survival Kit! For those of you who are unaware of what LANWAR X is, it is a huge 46 hour gaming LAN party that happens every semester at my University, that is also open to the public.

Obviously, if you do not have events like this in your area, you could always use this idea to make a gaming survival kit!

So my gift begins with his LANWAR X admission ticket. What would a LANWAR survival kit be without an admission ticket? I also drew him as a Poro from League of Legends on his envelop and wrote in his card and explanation of his gift.

In the card I wrote: "Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day! I also hope you'd enjoy my little 'themed gift'. Well, here is your LANWAR survival kit! Equipped with a ticket of admission/tournament entry, a brand new headset, and some snacks to keep you fueled for VICTORY! Now go get that enemy nexus, summoner!"

I bought him a Steelseries Siberia Elite Prism Gaming Headset for his Gaming PC.

To make it more League of Legends themed, since we plan on playing League of Legends at LANWAR, I gave him "poro snax" and "health & mana pots"! Obviously if your boyfriend doesn't play League of Legends, Poro Snax and Health & Mana Pots wouldn't make sense, but you could always look into what games he does play and see if there are any consumables you could replicate in snacks.

For the Poro Snax, I put a bunch of Reese in a zip-lock bag and drew a label saying "Poro Snax".

I also used construction paper and markers to make labels for Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew: Voltage to make Health & Mana Pots.

I also gave him a bunch of snacks, which any guy would enjoy, and SteelSeries UFC gaming earbuds in red--which is his favorite color.

I'm really happy with how this gift turned out! When I gave this gift to him, he had the biggest smile on his face!

Mission: Success!

Let me know down below of any cool geeky gifts you have made for your boyfriend/husband in the past! I'd love to hear them for future ideas!
