Five Changes of 2015! [5 Fandom Friday]

Guess what time it is? 5 Fandom Friday Time! Actually, the very FIRST Five Fandom Friday of 2016! It has been a while since I've done a 5 Fandom Friday and I'm super excited to be back!

This week's prompt was 5 Ways You Grew/Changed/Evolved in 2015. For me, 2015 was a year of exploration of new hobbies, new opportunities, and new experiences. I thought instead of focusing on my personality changing--like I interpreted from the prompt--I would focus instead on changes and new experiences 2015 brought me.

So, here are Five Changes of 2015!

(1) I became a technology freelance writer!

So many of you may or may not know this already, but I have been freelance writing for The Local Biz Magazine's blog as their Technology blogger. I have always loved writing and creative projects, but I never thought I'd get the opportunity to write for other companies like INspired Media Inc. and The Local Biz Magazine. This has taken my writing to a whole new level and I am so thankful for this experience and opportunity to get my name out there.

(2) I went to my first eSports viewing party.

I apologize in advance for photo quality.

I think one of the biggest changes in my life is my activity and interest in eSports. If you met me in high school, you would have never imagined me as the type of girl who would enjoy watching and playing eSports. I've always played video games, but never to the extent where I'd spend hours on end watching others play it competitively.

In April of 2015, my friends and I went to the Toronto Spring LCS Viewing Party where we got to watch the Spring LCS finals on a big screen with other members of the community, buy merchandise, and meet other summoners. It was an amazing experience and I hope to eventually, one day, be able to watch the LCS or League of Legends Worlds live one day. Its already on the bucketlist!

(3) I built my very first gaming computer.

This was a huge investment but I could not be more proud. Throughout the months, I have been making upgrades here and there, but overall, I am proud to be able to say I built my own custom PC (with the assistance of Adam, of course--this is usually where he chimes in and says he did it all himself: but he didn't do it all). I had some difficulties with buying a processor that did not match my motherboard, so I had to re-build the whole PC over again--where I did it myself. This PC is my pride and joy.

I am actually hoping to do an updated PC set-up post in the soon future, because my set-up has changed drastically since my first photo of my build (above). If you're interested in specs, I'll link the post here.

(4) I went to my first LAN party.

In October 2015, my friends and I went to LANWAR X at our University. It is one of the biggest LAN parties in Ontario and was sponsored by Canada Computers. There was over 500 people who went , lots of sponsors selling merchandise, computer parts, and full on keyboards, mice, and headsets. It was such an amazing experience and I am super excited to go again in March 2016!

(5) I started a collection of figurines.

My boyfriend has really been encouraging me to start a figurine collection. So far, I only have League of Legends figurines, but I am hoping to expand my collection to some of my favourite Pop Culture icons like Captain America (my bae, of course!), all of the My Little Ponies, and as many Hello Kitty figures I can find! (p.s. I know Caitlyn is holding Lulu's wand in the last photo, instead of her shot gun. The gun fell behind my desk and I have been too lazy to move my desk to go get it lol). I'm hoping to do some reviews, in the future, for my figurines when I find a place to put them on my blogging schedule.

These are 5 of my changes of 2015.
