All About Printable Stickers! + DEADPOOL WEEKLY SET FREEBIE!

Happy Thursday, Everyone! I hope you are all having an amazing week!

Recently, I have been preparing for the grand opening of my Etsy Sticker Shop and thought it would only be appropriate to share with you a thing or two I've learned about Printable Planner Stickers.

I have been active within the Planner Decorating community for a couple of months now and it can really suck at your wallet--especially if you live outside of the USA, like I do, because of extremely high shipping costs. After a while, I knew I had a problem--but I couldn't give up this hobby! Planner Decorating was Jen Time. How could I possibly just "give it up"?

Then it hit me--why don't I just find printable planner stickers?

Printable Stickers are amazing for several reason:
- Generally cheaper in price (or sometimes even free!!!)
- You can print the file as many times as you want
- You get your stickers immediately--no more waiting for it to ship to you
- No more bulk-buying stickers to make sure you make the shopping cost worth the purchase
- No more shipping costs, in general
- Your choice of glossy or matte

Usually, after this point, I usually get questions like:
- Isn't Ink Expensive? Depends on your printer. A full cartridge of both Black and Tri-Color Ink usually lasts me about a month or two of planner sets and kawaii stickers. I am using an HP Inkjet.
- Don't you need a cutting machine? Not at all! I will show you later in the post how I cut my printables!
- Isn't it time consuming? Kind of, But I don't see it that way. Planning is my time to unwind. I usually cut my stickers while watching a show or catching up on Vlogs on YouTube. A lot of the time, I don't even notice how much time has passed by because I'm enjoying it so much!

So do I do it exactly?

First, you'd have to start with a printable. Where can you find printables? Etsy. Pinterest. Planner Groups on Facebook. Or you could make your own. Today I will be using this Deadpool Weekly Set I made.

For printing, you have a couple of options. You can use sticker/label paper or plain copy paper. For this demonstration, I will be using Avery Sticker Project Paper. I purchased mine at Staples. You can purchase sticker paper from any craft and office supply store or online on Amazon and Ebay. You can obviously use any other brand as well, but this is the only brand they had at my local staples.

If you do choose to use sticker paper, it is to your preference as to what kind of finish you want to you. You can use glossy-finish, matte-finish, or even photo-finish. I like to use matte sticker paper because it allows me to write on it without smudges.

Also please check your printer settings to know which way to put your paper into your printer. I have to put my sticker sheet with the removable backing facing up when putting it into my printed because of the way my printer moves the paper through it to print. Every printer is different, so I'd suggest printing with copy paper, first, so that you don't waste sticker paper.

Once your stickers are printed out, you have a couple of options on how you want to cut and stick them to your planner.

No matter what type of paper you use, you will need something to cut your printables with. If you do have a cutting machine, lucky you! If you do not, don't worry, I've got you covered! You can use an X-acto knife/precision knife or traditional (but sharp) scissors. This is your choice through your personal preference. I, personally, use a mixture of both. I use my precision knife for any straight lines and my scissors for any stickers that have rounded edges or curves.

If you used plain copy paper to print out your printable, you may also need something to make your "stickers" do their job--stick. You can traditionally "cut and paste" into your planner or use double sided tape.

If you did happen to use sticker paper, here is how I cut my stickers:

I begin with lining up a ruler to any straight edges.

Then I go in with my precision knife and cut along the straight line I've created with my ruler. If you want your stickers to peel off the backing like a sticker sheet which you would have bought in stores or on Etsy, press lightly to kiss-cut. This will take lots of practice to master and different cutting pressers will vary depending on what kind of paper you use and how sharp your knife is. If you press too lightly, the sticker will not cut and if you press too hard, you will cut through the peelable backing, making it harder to separate the sticker from its backing.

If you do happen to put too much pressure and have trouble peeling the sticker off of the backing, just kiss-cut the backing to make a small slit which will make it easier to separate the two.

If kiss-cutted correctly, you'll have something like this:

And Tada, you're all finished!!

Now that you have seen how it is done, why not try it out for yourself?
