The Happiness Planner! - iPad App Review

Happy Sunday, Cupcakes! For the longest time, I have been contemplating buying The Happiness Planner, but could never talk myself into committing to paying so much money for a planner. What if I didn't like it? What if I started it and then stopped using it a couple of weeks later? Then I discovered The Happiness Planner App!

If you have yet to hear about The Happiness Planner, the simplest way to explain it is through the words of Mo Seetubtim (Founder of The Happiness Planner): "My vision is to inspire people to live a purpose and passion driven life and to find happiness from within". That exactly is what The Happiness Planner Brand reflects! Since 2015, she has been rolling out with beautifully decorated planners that embraced positive thinking, mindfulness, gratitude, and self development.

I have always wanted one of these planners because of how gorgeous they are and everything the brand promotes, but the price always held me back. $75 CAD is a hard investment to pay for a planner I've never used before--especially as a post secondary student. Nevertheless, I have always wanted a planner that focused on positive lifestyle habits, gratitude and self-reflection; and have yet to find a planner as perfect as this. Before deciding as to whether I'd like to fully commit to this planner, I learned that they also have a FREE App!

Review

So far, I have loved the app! It seems to be everything I have been looking for, so far.

First of all, the app is FREE, so you can never go wrong with trying out a free app. If you don't like it, you don't have anything really to lose, since you can just delete it from your device's memory.

I really enjoyed the self-reflection exercise at the beginning. It made me pin-point the areas in my life that really made me happy and the areas that made me feel sad/upset. With each point, I also had to reflect on how often I should do the things that make me happy and what I should change to get rid of the things that made me sad. I also had to reflect on my future goals, passions, and loved ones. It was an enlightening experience that really helped me understand what in my life I loved and what in my life needed changes.

On top of that, the daily exercises are far more than just planning your day. There is the staple "Schedule" and "To Do" sections (which come with settable alerts so you never miss an appointment), but what I thought was nice is that you can reflect at the beginning of the day (most likely when you wake up) on things you are excited for the day and at the end of the day, reflect on things that that made you happy. I also like how on the "Who are you grateful for" section, it gives you the option to link your list with your contacts, and message the person that day to send them gratitude.

My favorite daily exercise is rating myself. In this exercise, you rate your Happiness, Health, Energy and Productivity on a scale from 1 - 10 (1 being a low rating and 10 being a high rating). I think these are things we all kind of over look in our every day lives but are so important to take note of. I have enjoyed comparing these ratings to things happening in my life that day; thus helping me reflect on what in my life has really boosted me up and what in my life has made me feel really low.

Other features include monthly goal setting, monthly reflections, bucket list trackers, a daily reading on positive thinking,

Overall, I think this is a phenomenal app! Not only has it helped me schedule my life better, over the last couple of weeks, but it has really made me look deeper into my every day life and reflect on what really makes me feel thankful.

After this experience, I am highly considering purchasing The Happiness Planner for my own. I am interested to see how similar and different the physical planner is from the app and which one I'd like more. Let me know down below or on social media if you'd like me to purchase one to review!

  1. Free vs. $75 seems a no-brainer. At least you can use it on the go! I bought myself a plain planner and decorated it myself but I, like you have been so tempted by these pretty one.

    1. Last year, I was planning with The Happy Planner (which is still kind of pricey but was perfect for decorating with stickers). This year, The Happiness Planner has really been tempting me. Thankfully the app is free; but there's nothing like good ol' pen to paper. I wish there was a planner like this but affordable lol.
