Smashbox Try It Kit: Bestsellers | Worth The Buy?

I have been iching to try some Smashbox products, but wasn't very sure where to start. This week, I got my hands on the Smashbox Try-it-Kit: Best Sellers and was super excited to see which of the best sellers I really liked and which ones I would pass on.
Because I've been reviewing so many different beauty products lately, I thought I'd put a spin on it and create a new series on my blog called Worth The Buy. In this series, I will be reviewing products, sets, and kits; then sharing with you as to whether I think it is worth purchasing or not.

*Disclaimer: I was given this kit as a personal gift. In no way am I receiving compensation specifically for reviewing this product. Links are also not affiliate links

The Smashbox Try It Kit: Bestsellers retails for $28CAD and comes with three trial sized products and two full sized product.
At first glance, you have a great arrangement of products. These products, overall, are basic necessities in any make-up bag, in my opinion. Everyone could use primers, a tube of lipstick, mascara and eyeliner in their make-up bag. Those just seem like basic essentials--at least to me. Nevertheless, you definitely could not do a full face look with just these products considering the facial primer would serve no use without foundation, concealer and setting powder; and the eye shadow palette would serve no purpose without eye shadow.

Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner (Raven) | This is an amazing eyeliner. At first impression, I was surprised by how sharp it continued to stay. I have yet to understand the mechanism of the "sharpening lid" or where the accept product goes, but I was mind-blown. I liked how opaque the product was. It glided on smoothly and was very fast drying. It also is long lasting and surprised me when, at the end of the day, the product was not smudged and still very dark. I would highly recommend this product to anyone considering purchasing it!
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara | The formula is pretty thin but buildable to help create very natural volume to your lashes. I liked how it didn't apply clumpy and the bristles apply the product evenly. It is also the perfect size to bring along on your travel ventures.
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick (Primrose) - I have really been liking this lipstick! The formula is super creamy and the shade easily can fit all skin tones. It is such a soft pink color and would look great for the spring season coming up. This is also a travel sized which is perfect to tuck away in your purse for that mid-day touch-up.
Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer | This was one of the products I was super excited to try out! I wasn't too impressed at the beginning, but gradually grew to love it. When I first tried to use it, some of the product had already hardened inside of the bottle, so it was so hard to get product to come out. When I finally squeezed the bottle hard enough, a BIG clump came out at once. What a waste of product! I was not impressed at all. I spent 10 minutes pushing product back into the bottle for later use. When I actually used the product to prime my lids, however, I was very impressed at the pigmentation of the shadows after use. The eye shadows were much more vibrant and stayed on all day without fading. Only a small pea-size of product is needed for long lasting shadow. I think, over all, this one is a hit or miss depending on your bottle. I've seen others have similar issues with the product clumping in the bottle and then squirting out all at once.
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer | I was kind of cautious when I first saw this primer because I've heard some pretty negative things about this primer before hand. Many said said they didn't like to because it felt greasy on their face. To my surprise, I loved this primer! It didn't feel greasy on my face and didn't add any extra oil to my face throughout the day. It blended out well and left a nice silicone-feeling base; all set for my foundation. A small pea-size of product is needed to prime your whole face, which is nice, considering this is only a trial sized product. This has to be my favorite primer on the market so far!
Now the question, you've been waiting for, Is the Smashbox Try It Kit: Bestsellers worth the buy?

I'd have to say, for the price of $28 CAD, absolutely. You are given 5 products (all worth significantly more than $28) and all with very good quality.
If you were to buy these products separately in the available sizes they are sold in, you are spending $132 CAD on products you aren't even sure if you like yet. I think for $28 CAD, you are getting your money's worth, significantly. Especially since you get a full sized eyeliner worth $25 CAD on it's own! You are getting an amazing deal to try out the products, see if they suit your skin well, and then time to decide whether you want to invest in buying the full sized products individually after. If you are someone new to the Smashbox brand and just wanted to try out some of the products everyone is raving about, this is an amazing value for what you get. I only had great things to say about each product (except for the shadow liner, partially). So I definitely think it is Worth The Buy!

If you'd like to purchase it, you can find it on Sephora, here.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know down below which one is your favorite or which one's you are most excited to try out!
