Will Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Actually Give You Big Beautiful Hair?

Happy Sunday, Cupcakes! I've recently got my hands on the Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner and couldn't wait to share my thoughts with you.

*Disclaimer: I'd like to thank BzzAgent and Pantene for sending me complimentary bottles of the Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for testing purposes. Nevertheless, my opinions of the products are that of my own and are not persuaded or altered because of compensation. For more information regarding my sponsorship policies, click here.

When BzzAgent reached out to me asking me if I'd be interested in joining their Pantene Pro-V campaign, I was super excited! Anybody who knows me in person knows I love big hair. I have extremely long, thick hair; which makes it sometimes hard to keep volumized due to all of the weight. So when I was offered to test out a volumizing product, I just couldn't say no!

According to the Pantene website, this product is used "to create full, thick looking body that lasts 24 hours". It is also to be used as a trio with the Sheer Volume Shampoo, Sheer Volume Conditioner, and Volume Root Lift Spraying Gel. I was not given the Volume Root Lift Spraying Gel complimentary for testing, so my review will be based on my experience of just using the shampoo and conditioner.

I have been using these products for about a month now, and I can honestly say it is a pretty awesome shampoo and conditioner formula.

At first impression, the shampoo and conditioner smell amazing! They have such a sweet, tropical, fruity scent to them. The scent isn't too harsh, but definitely is bold in comparison to my usual shampoo. The scent also stays for about 3 days!

After the first wash, I could already tell a noticeable difference in my hair's volume. I have pretty thick hair, but I could tell my hair was thicker after washing it with this duo. The formula together also made my hair feel super soft. After shampooing and conditioning, my hair was also tangle free before hopping out of the shower.

After a couple more washes, the only noticeable difference I could tell of my hair is that is looked shinier and thicker. Especially towards my ends, my hair looked fuller. Also, it does feel a bit healthier. Especially during the winter months, my hair tends to look like a faded dried out mess, but so far, my hair seems to look a lot more lively.

My biggest critique of this shampoo and conditioner duo is that there wasn't really an addition to volume in accordance to height of my hair. The top of my head near my roots still looked fairly the same. Maybe this is because I have very long hair and it is just heavy? I'm not sure. Maybe this is where the Volume Root Lift Spray Gel comes in handy. Nevertheless, it wasn't any more voluminous in that sense. I still had to tease my hair to get it to the volume and height I wanted it at with my hair down and styled. It also made my hair get greasy more quickly. I usually can go three days before my hair gets greasy. After using this shampoo and conditioner duo, my hair was greasy after the second day. Interestingly, despite my hair starting to look greasy, my hair still keeps some volume and doesn't flatten like it usually does when my hair gets greasy--so I guess it lives up to its 24 hour volume claim.

At the price of about $5 per bottle, I think it is worth the investment if you are looking to thicken up your hair a bit. It does everything it claims it does: 24 hour lasting volume, creating thick body to hair, and making hair feel healthier after each wash. But if you are looking for something to make your hair look bigger and bolder while giving you long lasting cleanliness, I think you could pass without feeling regret. I guess I just feel like with a title so bold like "Sheer Volume" I just expected bigger voluminous hair up top too--not just at my ends. Maybe I'm going to have to buy the third part of the trio to see if it really does make a difference to my roots.

Have you tried Pantene Pro-V Sheer Volume? If so, what are your thoughts on the formula? Did it give you the big hair you were hoping for? Let me know down below!
